So many balls!

10 Months Old!

I love these pictures with these little signs but, as you can imagine, it's been increasingly difficult to snap a good shot with our increasingly mobile, curious little girl! To illustrate, here's what I have to work with.

And now the sign has fallen and Presley's being silly.

Then Daddy says "touchdown" and we get this.

Now she's totally aware of the sign and refusing to cooperate. But, still looking mighty cute.

And now she's totally over it. Come on Momma, let's just go to church all ready so that I can play in the foyer for 3 hours. *Sigh*

We can hardly believe that our little Sweet P is growing up so fast. This month went by so quickly and was filled with many fun new accomplishments!

• I taught P to point this month so that she can show us what she wants and where she wants to go. She caught on pretty quick and now enjoys directing us with the point of her little finger and a little "ugh" noise.
• For some reason it took a little longer for her to learn how to clap but, she finally got it this month! Yeah (clap, clap, clap)!
• Presley has abandoned her little lizard/army crawl and now crawls. But, what she really likes to do is walk! She is a proficient furniture/wall surfer, is good at walking while holding your hands (one or two) and stands without holding onto anything. She is very anxious to start walking and is fearless. I'm sure she'll be toddling around very, very soon!
• P's third tooth broke through this month. The top tooth on the right side finally broke through the skin. She was a little crabby as it came through but, I'm sure she's going to enjoy having more teeth to chew her big girl food with.
• I didn't keep track of specific new foods this month, P pretty much eats anything! She loves to eat what ever the big people are eating and seems increasingly dissatisfied with her baby food (especially her oatmeal). Her favorite things to eat are bananas (biting off a whole banana by herself) and cheese puffs. Seriously, we go through 3 cans of Gerber cheese puffs a week.We discovered those little squeezable fruit pouches this month and we all love those. She can feed herself and they are so convenient when we are on the go!
• Presley is so smart (of course)! She can show you where your eyes, nose, mouth, ear and hair are. And she knows where her belly is. She can also tell you what the lion and cow say. She seems to understand just about everything we say.
• P loves bath time! I say "are you ready for bath time?" and she makes a beeline to the bathroom to get in the tub. She loves splashing and crawling around, laying back so I can wash her bottom, and throwing all of her toys out of the tub for me to pick up and throw back in (its a really fun game!).
• She still sleeps like a champ. Usually she sleeps 10-11 hours over night and only seems to wake up and need some attention when she's teething. She takes two naps a day, a short one in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon. She loves her little lamby and giraffe (stuffed animals) that hang out in her crib with her. She just lays there and cuddles and talks to them before she falls asleep and when she wakes up. We find her sleeping in all sorts of funny positions. She likes to be on her stomach with her knees underneath her and her little bottom in the air. Silly girl.
• Presley made a special friend this month at playgroup. She latches on to my friend, Irene, at a playgroup and didn't want to let her go! She loves being around other kids of all ages. There are several little girls about the same age as her at church and it's fun to watch them get so excited about seeing each other, crawl together and sit and swat at each others hair bows.

Every day Jeff and I are amazed at our little girl and just love getting to see her little personality. She loves to have a good time and be silly, doesn't seem to be afraid of much (except my hair dryer and the vacuum), and loves to cuddle with Momma (not so much with Daddy yet..he's here for a good time!). We are so blessed to have her in our family and are grateful every day for the joy she's brought to our lives. Every day as I rock her to sleep I am overwhelmed with love for her and gratitude to my Heavenly Father for sending us one of His sweetest daughters.

Getting Our Wiggles Out

After 3 hours of church on Sunday, we were ready to get our wiggles out! And there's no better place than the park to do that! P is increasingly becoming a big fan of the park. And why not!?!

She can climb!

And slide!

And swing!

Even Daddy joined the fun! Unfortunately, this slide was a little narrow towards the bottom and her broad-shouldered Daddy wedged himself in.

P loved to feel the sand in between her toes. And play peak-a-boo with the old folks nearby.

And she finally got to feel the grass between her toes. This park doesn't have the typical Florida crab grass so, we had to take advantage of that!

She didn't see to like feeling so much of it all at once though. She would not put that other hand down!

A friendly kitty even came to say "hello"! P was really good about "being soft" and they made fast friends.

After so much fun at the park, we had to rehydrate and feed our little bellies. P decided to stash that Cheerio in her hair. You never know when your next meal is going to be. It's the Tobler way.

No Hands!

9 Months Old

Our little Sweet P is 9 months old! She is growing like a weed and has acquired many fun new skills!

• She is 28.5" long (79th percentile) and weighs 17.5 pounds (26th percentile). She's still long and lean! 
• She's still a really good sleeper. She sleeps about 11 hours each night and only wakes up occasionally over night. She usually takes two, 2-hour naps each day. Although, if there's something fun going on--forget it! She loves to be a part of the action, just like her daddy.
• P cut her second tooth right after she turned 8 months old. She now has two little chompers on the bottom that Daddy loves to brush! Her four front teeth on the top look like they all may be developing at close to the same rate. I'm sure we'll have some cranky moments as they all get set to make their debut!
• Presley has a good appetite and is quickly losing interest in her baby food. She still eats it but, gets really excited for her big girl foods and makes sure you know that she wants to try some of what ever you are eating. Notable new foods this month were: black beans and rice, quinoa, popcorn, eggs, tofu, chicken, roast beef, green shakes (fruit and veggie smoothies) and those little Gerber cheese puffs. This girl LOVES her cheese puffs. She loves to eat bananas but, mostly only when she's allowed to take bites off the whole banana herself. She likes to take big bites and then squish it out of her mouth, grab the squishy banana with her hands, and then style her hair. Needless to say, bath time immediately follows dinner time.
• Our little P is very mobile! She still seems to prefer army crawling to regular crawling (although she can crawl the traditional way) and after she pulled up to stand the first time, she quickly learned how to cruise around the furniture. She's getting pretty quick (and brave), which means we have to comfort a bonked noggin at least a couple of times a day. We bought her a walker and she loves to chase us around in that. We've learned the hard way that we should have our shoes on when P is behind the wheel of her little car (walker).
• Presley learned how to drink out of a straw this month! It's very handy for when we're out to eat and the best way for her to drink her green shakes. However, with a new skill came abandonment of an old one--P will not take a bottle any more! She was home with me for 3 weeks in July and after that, she won't drink out of her bottle. She's moved on to a sippy cup!
• I know all parents think their kids are smart but, P really is ;). She can show you where your eyes and nose are and will show you your hat if your wearing one. She will grab her ball, dog, duck and turtle if you ask her to. She also recognizes the word "vitamins" because she loves taking her vitamin D supplement after her bath every night! We are constantly amazed at how quickly she learns and how much she all ready knows. She seems to just be waiting for opportunities to show us how smart she is!
• P loves to swim and swing at the playground. She loves other kids and can't get out of my arms fast enough when there's an opportunity to play with other little people. She is sometimes shy around new adults but, she also waves and says "hi" to everyone in the grocery store. Go figure.
• She is a little chatterbox (especially when eating her Cheerios or cheese puffs) and makes all sorts of noises. She says all of the usuals--bababa, dadada, nanana. She says "mama" but, I'm not going to be really excited about that one until it stops applying to many other things as well ;).

Time is just flying by and I can hardly believe that as I think about her Halloween costume, she'll likely be walking, and that her first birthday is just around the corner! She's so much fun and we just love her so much! I am grateful every day to be her Momma and hope that she knows just how much we love her.

A Par-tay!

We spent the weekend in Tampa to celebrate birthdays (me, Ashley & Braden) and Greer's last official weekend at home before she heads off to college. The sister's spent a good part of Saturday on a shopping spree--we had to outfit G with the proper "going out" attire. This is something Ashley and I were clueless about when we arrived in G-ville (14 years ago for me, yikes!). Ashley showed up to her first frat party in a khaki cargo skirt and "mandals" and while I did a little bit better, my wardrobe was definitely not much to brag about (even for the late '90's)! After a few hours in the mall, G is sure not to have the same problem! Thank goodness I packed the sour patch kids and we had Taylor Swift's new song to jam too! We all want to not like her music but, it's just so darn catchy (We-eee, are never, ever, ever...getting back together...Like EVER)!

P enjoyed the abundance of fun and attention (the mohawk made an appearance again).

 

And we had a little going away party that evening to celebrate G's new phase in life. Of course, she spent a bit of time talking with her BF, Patrick, who is at the Coast Guard Academy.

And we all took care of the dip while she was away. Boy, cream cheese sure is versatile and delicious.

My Mom has finally caught on to our plans to never leave our 20's...

And we were able to get a picture with the three of us together!

Oh yes, and Harley finally made friends with P.
