A Day at the Beach

After a much-too-long hiatus from the beach, we decided it was time to take our little Sweet P to experience one of our great loves. She was pretty excited!

Here excitement waned a little while she felt the warm sand on her feet. After that, she preferred to stay on top of our beach blanket under the shade.

She was equally unenthused with the water to begin with. It was a little chilly and she preferred to be in Momma or Daddy's arms.

First time with her feet in the ocean...let the tears begin!

She was happy as a clam sitting on the blanket and eating!

Her fear of the sand and the water finally subsided when the cutest little Jack Russell puppy arrived for a walk in the water! She forgot all about it so that she could chase and pet the puppy!

 Weee! She finally caught the beach bug and started to explore...

...and then she fell down in the water and we had a brief relapse.

Thankfully, she gathered her courage enough to get down again and enjoy walking on the beach with Daddy.

And, of course, she had to enjoy a little time in her birthday suit before we went home.

I just love those little Tobler buns!

We Have a Champion!

Jeff's been playing on the dental school intramural softball team for the last 4 years. And in their final outing before graduation, they finally won the graduate school championship! Jeff was pretty excited about the much coveted championship t-shirt (it's a sign of supreme accomplishment at the gym) and his girls are very proud of him!

Sneaky Little Bugger

I found this sneaky little bugger in between my toes whilst giving myself a pedi.

A biopsy quickly followed! (Ouch!)

Thankfully, it was just a normal mole. Jeff and I were certain it was cancerous and were elated when it wasn't! The lesson...when you do your skin cancer screenings, be sure to check in between your toes!

Best Seat in the House?

One evening Presley decided to make herself comfortable.

Happy Easter!

We had a fun-filled Easter weekend! The weather was beautiful and we did our best to get out and enjoy it!

On Saturday, we decided to take P to the Jacksonville Zoo. It was a great! The Zoo was much more impressive than we imagined. I felt terrible that I forgot Presley's swimming suit--the splash park looked so fun! Next time! It was fun to see Presley take it all in and see the live animals that go with all of the names and sounds she knows!

This would be a great picture if P wasn't giving someone the stink-eye in it!

P carried her little lunch sack around for a good portion of the day. She either likes to do it because it's like carrying a purse (like Momma), or she  likes to always be within close proximity to her next meal (like her Daddy).

The most magical part for me was taking P for her first ride on the carousel. We initially thought that she would be a little indifferent about it. But, when I asked her if she wanted to ride on it, her little eyes lit up and she said "yes." She waited patiently in line with me and her eyes just sparkled the whole time. We scoped out all of the animals and decided on the jaguar. She was just pleased as punch the whole ride and loved looking for Daddy each time we went around. It was so great and it just warms my heart thinking about it.

After we had our magical ride on the carousel, we went into the kids area where P, petted some goats...

...and went down the big slides a couple of dozen times.

After so much fun, our little Sweet P passed right out for the ride back home.

Easter morning, P woke up before church to hunt for her Easter basket. (The Easter Bunny hides the baskets in the Tobler house!) She led Daddy on a good search of the house...

...before finding her prize in one of her favorite spots!

She was quick to realize that it was filled with some of her favorite treats, as well as a few things that quickly became her new favorites!

P has been all about egg hunts the last few weeks so, she knew right what to do when she woke up from her post-church nap and discovered that the Easter Bunny had hid her eggs. Momma was too lazy to put her Easter dress back on for the hunt, so we hunted in our comfies!

Had to stop for a mid-hunt snack...

She loved opening her eggs with Daddy. And she even didn't seem to mind sharing with him! It was funny to watch her develop a preference for what was inside her eggs. Once she found (and sampled) the ones with a chocolate covered raisin inside, Cheerios, yogurt bites, and goldfish just didn't cut it! She would peak inside and say "No," close it up and move onto the next egg to find a chocolatey prize.

After our egg hunt, we spent a little time dying eggs...

...and sampling them (P picked out a little hole in this shell to dig out and eat the inside of the egg--just like a little squirrel!)

And then enjoyed a nice, light Easter dinner.

It was a wonderful holiday weekend a nice way to celebrate the miracle of the Savior's atonement and resurrection. My heart aches for what he suffered for me (and you) but I'm so grateful for the incredible blessings is provides.
