We're headed to Orlando tonight to catch our flight to Paris early tomorrow afternoon! Packing was a challenge...how do you look fashionable, while still being able to walk long distances, in sub-70 degree weather (this is my mom's threshold for cold), in one suitcase weighing less than 50 lbs?
Jeff doesn't know how to update the blog so, we'll be on a blogging hiatus until late next week. Stay tuned for pics and stories!

A Weekend Away...
Our good friends, the Copelands, invited us along for a quick weekend get-away to Jacksonville and we had a great time! It was nice to get out of town, eat at some new restaurants, and see some new places.
Friday, we went to downtown Jacksonville and ate at a great restaurant at The Landings. The food was absolutely delicious and was very reasonably priced! We splurged and had a delicious smores sunday for dessert...I never would have thought to put toasted marshmallows on a sunday. It was really a treat! We were able to catch to artistic portion of the Olympic opening ceremonies at the restaurant and were just fascinated with it. We also walked along the river for a while and were able to get right up close to a $40 million yacht. Apparently, one of the head Toyota guys was in town. We could see into a few of the windows and it was amazing. It made me wonder what their stationary house looked like! (there's a pic below...one of the top 100 largest yachts)
We went to Ponte Vedra beach on Saturday. Ponte Vedra is a really nice beach town, which I think is rare on the Atlantic coast. A lot of the little beach towns are so dumpy but they have the best views/locations around...I don't get it! It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed relaxing and being outside. We finished off our get away with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory before we headed home (delicious!).

Cassie & Craig drooling over our Smores Sunday. It was very tasty! (As an aside...they have several picture of us in a similar pose on their camera. Jeff was so mentally exhausted from his dental school interview that the concept of holding still until the after the third flash was too much. :-) )

Interesting Development
So, my right eye caught the cold I had a couple of weeks ago! Didn't know that could happen but, I'm grateful I have the medicine I need to clear it up before the trip. There's no way I'm wearing my glasses for all of my pics in Paris!
How We Spent Our Weekend...

Jeff was extremely helpful, cleaning out a closet, washing the car, etc. (in between teasing me about the teenage, vampire, love-saga I was engrossed in!) We had a couple of great dinners out at Dragonfly's Rolls & Bowls and Leonardo's 706. Both were very tasty and we'll be visiting both again! All-in-all, a great weekend!

And so it begins...
Jeff has his first dental school interview (at UF) next Friday, August 8th! I'm so proud of him! Hopefully, it will not be the only one! Prayers, good thoughts, positive energy, karma or whatever would be appreciated!
